Written for the person holding the wheel
Cars now carry cameras, radar and software that can warn, steer and brake. The paperwork that explains them is long, technical and easy to skip. Safe Auto Partners writes the short version.
Our aim is simple: when a system in your car speaks up, you should already know what it is saying and what it wants you to do.

What we cover
The guides are grouped by system rather than by maker, so one page serves whatever you drive. Each follows the same five headings: what it does, how it senses, what sets it off, where it stops, and what to check for your own car.
What we are not
A carmaker or dealer
We do not sell vehicles, options or upgrades, and no maker reviews or pays for what we write.
A repair shop
We cannot diagnose a fault or tell you a repair is needed. A dealer or qualified technician can.
An insurer or broker
We do not quote, sell or recommend insurance, and we never pass your details to anyone who does.
The text programme
Two kinds of text, chosen separately
Some readers would rather take the guides in small pieces. You can sign up for either kind of message below, or both, on the text updates page. Nothing on this site needs a phone number to read.
Choose your textsAccount notifications
Messages about your own sign-up: confirming it, answering a HELP request and confirming when you opt out. No more than 4 a month.
Marketing
New safety guides, short reminders about the systems in your car and news about our service. No more than 4 a month.
Where the information comes from
We work from owners’ manuals and from public safety material, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s descriptions of driver assistance technology and its recall database.
When a maker’s system works differently from the general picture, the guide says so and sends you to your manual. When the public material changes, we revise the guide.
