Frequently asked questions
About the guides, the text messages and what we can and cannot help with.
No. Safe Auto Partners is independent. We do not sell cars, parts, repairs or insurance, and no maker or insurer pays us or reviews what we publish.
No. Every guide, the dashboard lights page and the glossary are open to anyone. Text updates are a separate choice you can make on the text updates page.
Account notifications are about your own sign-up: confirming it, answering HELP and confirming STOP. Marketing texts bring you a new guide, a short safety reminder or news about our service. You choose each one separately.
Reply STOP to any message. You will get one confirmation and nothing more. You can also email or call us and we will take your number off.
We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or your consent with anyone for their marketing. That includes insurers, dealers and lead buyers.
Not exactly. Each guide explains how a type of system generally works. Makers name and tune their systems differently, so your owner’s manual is the final word for your vehicle.
We do not look up vehicles. The window sticker, the owner’s manual or the maker’s website will list them, and a dealer can tell you from the vehicle identification number.
If the light is red, stop when it is safe. For anything else, our dashboard lights page explains the common safety symbols, and your manual has the full list. We cannot diagnose a fault on your car.
From owners’ manuals and from public safety material, such as the descriptions of driver assistance technology published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. We revise a guide when that material changes.
No. The guides are free to read and the text messages are free from us. Your carrier’s message and data rates may apply.
